Our Festival of Flowers and Music 2021 happened over the August Bank Holiday weekend. This year’s theme was dedicated to saying a big thank you to all the individuals, groups, organisations and charities who have supported our community throughout the pandemic.
Over the weekend we had so many visitors come into our buildings to see the beautiful flower arrangments and listen to a variety of musicians play. Our younger visitors were able to complete a children’s trail around our buildings. Many also took the opportunity to visit our craft fair or buy a plant from Matthew’s Plants at Hadley Nurseries. There was also the chance to stop and have a bite to eat or stay for a drink from our beer tent, staffed by our Rector Gaz Tracey, where we served beer from Hadham Brewery, Pimms and wine.
It was so lovely to see our buildings full again after temporarily moving the Festival in 2020 outside. Any donations made went to the upkeep of our buildings however we have donated 10% of these to Gavi, who with their key delivery partner UNICEF aim to accelerate the development and manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines, and to guarantee fair and equitable access for every conutry in the world (https://www.gavi.org/covax-facility).
