APCM Info and Documents
Our 2021 APCM will be held on 16 May 2021. Following special dispensation by the Church of England, we will gather on Zoom once more this year.
You can find all of the information, and documents, you will need by clicking the buttons below to access everything that we will need.
Revision of Electoral Roll
It is now time for the annual revision to the Electoral Roll again in preparation for the APCM which will be on Sunday 16 May this year.
We are hoping to hold this in the St. Barnabas Centre as usual, government regulations permitting. If not, there is provision for the meeting to be held remotely via Zoom and details of how to access this meeting will be provided nearer the date. We will be revising the electoral roll in preparation for the meeting and the revision period is now: 11 April – 1 May 2021. Application forms will be available between these dates. (see below)
People on the roll are members of St James, and therefore only they are able to attend the APCM and to stand for positions of Church Warden, PCC members and Deanery Synod representatives. If you are hoping to stand for one of these positions you will need to make sure you are on the roll before the APCM.
If you are already on the electoral roll and your details have not changed i.e. you have not changed your name or address, or contact details, then you do not need to do anything.
If you are not on the roll and wish to apply and are a member of the Church of England and live in the parish then you are eligible, providing you are aged 16 or over and are baptised. If you live outside the parish and have regularly worshipped at St James for six months and are a member either of the Church of England or a church in communion with it or a church which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, you may also apply.
If you would like an application form please contact the church office where we can email you a form. Once you have recieved the form please print and complete and send back by mail to: The Parish Office, St. Barnabas Centre, Church Lane, Thorley, Bishops Stortford CM23 4BE.
In line with GDPR regulations, any contact details supplied on completed forms will not be published in the copies of the roll available in St James and the Barnabas Centre. These will display names and date of entry on the roll only.
If you have any questions please contact Vanessa or Jo in the parish office.
